Its been 3 weeks now and I have yet to hear back from the hospital about the first job I interviewed for.

Last night, I popped down to see one of the ladies that I hopefully would be working with (if I get the job) to see how the hunt was going and she said the last she heard there were still more interviews being done.

She also said that her boss- the one who interviewed me- said that she had one girl that was interested in midnights. And who might have said that? ME!

So I'm still patiently waiting by the phone.

I really hope to hear something soon.

I'm not sure what to do.

Call.

Don't call.

Don't call.

Ahhh!

Also, its been a week since I interviewed for different position in the hospital.

I am not so impatient about hearing back because the person I interviewed with told me they would let me know no matter what.

So that makes me feel a bit more comfortable.

I absolutely hate this waiting game.

Its no fun.

Please keep those fingers crossed and those prayers coming my way because the hubs and I really could use this.

Kindle Love (Kindle case tutorial)

Hello lovelies!
I hope everyone had a fantastic start to their New Year!!! I cannot believe that its 2012!! Ahh! I hope that this year brings so many great things to each and everyone of you. I know I am pretty excited about this year! only 10 weeks until my little man is born! I can't believe it.
So this Christmas the hubs surprised me with the Kindle Fire! I absolutely love it! You really can't get me to put it down. The first thing I decided that I needed was a case for it so that I could keep it nice and safe! I surfed around the net looking for the perfect case, but none really caught my eye ( the price and styles just weren't me.) So then I decided that I'd try my hand at making one. I surfed around for a tutorial and stumbled upon this simple but effective one from Sohl Design. (However, I found this tutorial after my first attempt and fail at making my own pattern.) Sewing is definitely not my strong suit. haha. But I am pretty happy with my finished project.

Not too bad, right?

I am still missing the velcro to keep the flap shut, but I will get that later today.

I am just so excited about it!

I'm about done with all the books I bought last week. Eek!

Do you ever get to that point in a relationship where you are just ready to give up? You keep the phone lines open hoping for a reply. You are always there when that person needs you, but when you need that shoulder to lean on they are nowhere to be found. You make plans, then plans fall through (to your disappointment) for some reason or another.
Right now, I'm at that point but I really don't want to be there. I hope that maybe its my crazy pregnancy hormones that are making feel like my friend is ignoring me, but the lack of replies show otherwise. I'm sure she is busy, we all get busy, but its not hard to text something and hit send.
I don't know what to think. I love her like a sister and I hate to feel this bit of resentment, but I've needed a friend these last few weeks and I haven't had one. There's only so much the hubs and I can talk about. And when we talk about the things that are on my mind, we just get into a heated discussion. Its not like talking to a girlfriend.

Ugh, sorry for the rant. I'm just feeling overwhelmed by a few things.

Oh and top of that little bit, i have yet to hear back from that job! I am pretty sure I didn't get it. Yeah, not so positive, but its what I'm feeling. I really hope that I hear something back. If this job doesn't pan out, hopefully the job that I interviewed with yesterday pans out. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I really need some good news.

If anyone has an advice for either of these issues please, feel free to comment with it.

Snow White, Cooties, and Smiles Galore

Hello lovelies,
I hope each of you had a very Merry Christmas!
Our Christmas was wonderful but very tiring. We spent Christmas day lounging around my parents house while watching one another doze off for a bit. It was definitely a lazy day.
Today, I am still feeling the after effects of the hustle and bustle so I really just wanted to share with you a few of my favorite pictures from Christmas day.

The pups also got two new bones and a huge box of treats.

After opening up presents Christmas morning, we all climbed into my bed and played a couple of board games. First, Cootie and then Princess Memory.

It was a wonderful time! Definitely one of my favorite moments!

Evangelina's Nina and Nino (godparents) sent her this beautiful dress for Christmas.

She looks so beautiful! We took this picture to show Nina and Nino the dress and to say thank you.

Those are a few highlights of my Christmas.

I couldn't have asked for anything better.

Right now, I feel like I have a bunch of butterflies flying around in my stomach and no its not the baby swimming around in there. Its my nerves. I am so anxious lately. Anxious about Christmas and the baby, but most of all my future at the hospital.

There are days where I absolutely love working on the obstetrics floor, but lately those days are few and far between. I need a new challenge. I need guaranteed hours. See, if we don't have the patients on the floor then I get VTO'd (voluntary time off) but its more like a MTO (mandatory time off.) So lately my paycheck has been suffering, which puts more pressure on the hubs to bring in the dough.

To solve the lack of hours problem I have applied for a few different positions in the hospital. I had an interview last Monday for a position that I REALLY want and I am waiting eagerly by the phone to hear something about it. Ahh. I am losing my mind- I want this so bad. So today when I saw the hospital's phone number come across my phone I almost squeeled! I thought it was the woman calling about the job, but it wasn't. It was a phone call about another position that I applied for. Which isn't too bad, but not full time hours like I was kind of hoping, but I'll take anything. Anything with guaranteed hours! And the lady reassured me that this position would have the hours. So this interview is next Wednesday. Hopefully, I can win someone over with my amazing personality! haha.

So if you could, could you please send a little prayer my way and keep those fingers crossed for me. I would really love for one of these jobs to work out!

As for my anxiety, anyone have any tips on easing it?

I think I am going crazy with it and I'm pretty sure the hubs is getting overwhelmed by my mood swings. haha.

This baby is a soccer player! (oh and some awkwardness)

This baby sure has a mean kick. Every once in a while his kick is so low that it feel like his leg is hanging out where it shouldn't be yet. Boy that was scary! But it is also so very exciting! I love feeling him move and groove in my belly! It is pretty much the most amazing feeling in the world!

So speaking of this baby's mean kick-he sure loves to kick my bladder! Ahh! Friday evening I had a bit of a scare, which was embarrassing also! Thankfully, I work on the obstetrics unit at the hospital so I wasn't looking like a complete stooge to absolute strangers. Anyway, let's cut to the embarrassing story- I went to the bathroom at one point in the evening and my panties were soaked. Eek! So first thought going through my mind was "I'm leaking fluid!" Then, the second thought that went through my mind was- "Can't be! Maybe its pee." Which happens to some women without their knowledge. Just a perk of being pregnant. I smelled it and it didn't smell like pee, but that might be because I drink tons and tons of water. So I definitely wanted a second opinion.

I went back out to the desk and was about to talk to my good friend about it, but didn't because the desk was swarmed with the other nurses and I don't feel as comfortable with them. I texted C and said, "Not to be gross or weird, but my panties are soaked and I am freaking out!"

To make a long story short, we ended up doing an AmniSure (basically a test that tests the pH level of the fluid) and found out that it was negative! No leakage of fluid!!! THANK GOD! Phew! So in other words I was just peeing myself! Boo! So embarrassing!!!!! But I thought it was something to share because I am sure there are many women that have been in my similar situation.

Now that my embarrassing story is shared its time for me to move onto my chores so that I can enjoy some craft time later!

Merry Christmas from the Leals.

Where in the world have I been? I have been such a horrible blogger these last 6 months and I must apologize. Its funny because I totally feel like I am missing a part of myself and I believe its blogging and all my wonderful friends that are apart of this fabulous world with me.
I really don't know why it has been so hard for me to blog lately. Depression? Busy days? Or no spark? Its probably a little bit of everything, but I am definitely trying to get over this little hump because I have so many things to be grateful for and an exciting adventure waiting for me in just a few months.

So this year I was wracking my brain trying to decide what to get my granny for Christmas. I tossed ideas around and the hubs and I finally decided that it was about time to get a new family photo done. I was a little insecure with the idea because I am so huge with this pregnancy, but insecurities aside, it was definitely time for a new photo.

If you look closely you can see my baby bump.

Robots or dinos....or how about robot dinos?

I am the most indecisive person that I know.
Honestly, you ask me what I want for dinner and I say- "I don't know."
Ask me what my favorite color is and I say- "Pink, but sometimes purple, yellow, or whatever strikes my fancy that day."
Anyway, I am in a predicament...I can't decide what baby bedding I want for the crib. I really want something bold and simple. Right now I have my eye on a few sets, but I could use some other ideas if anyone has any.

Wow, I really didn't intend to be MIA this long, but life kind of got ahead of me. haha.

How are all you beauties? Well, I hope!

I have been contemplating on how to get back into the swing of things and have just decided that it would be best to dive right in...So how about a quick recap?

So not too terribly busy, but busy enough.

Oh and do you want to know what the best thing was this summer...hmm?

Well, we found out the sex of the baby!!! Eeek! So much excitement!

Hello beautiful friends,
So sorry for the lack of blogging lately. I just haven't found the spark yet. But I'm thinking that this new pregnancy is going to help with that! I just wanted to share a quick update with you all before I need to go get ready for work.

Tuesday was the hubby's 29th birthday. Seriously, this man doesn't look 29 does he? He looks like he's 18 or something. haha. We had dinner at his favorite spot and then we came home and had cake. It was such a great day.

Yesterday we decided to spend the day at the local watering hole. Evangelina had a blast, however, she did a lot of pouting when we took a break and then when we left. Poor dear, she just can't get enough water. She's lucky that she has her daddy's complexion because I got a bit crispy. She on the other hand has a nice tan going on now. haha.

Last night after all was said and done I sat down and painted my nails.

I did a gradient with black and sparkle. It didn't turn out half bad.

I don't think I'll be redoing it today 2 or 3 times too. haha.

Thank you so much for all the sweet comments yesterday! The hubs and I are so excited about this new adventure and I really can't wait to meet the little one. The girls and I figured that my due date will be about March 11, 2012, but I won't know for sure until I go to the doctor and get checked out.

Today, I am obsessing over Nail Gradients. I absolutely love the look and I can't wait to have some time off from work to do it myself. So, for now I will be sharing with you all the inspiration I have found!

Firstly, I need to share this cover of Teenage Dream that Nick Pitera did! I love it! He's so freaking talented. I can't get over his vocal range.

Secondly, I am so sorry for being MIA lately. Its been quite difficult to sit at the computer lately. Especially, since that's all I seem to be doing at work. Plus, I feel as if I don't really have much to share lately. Our summers are pretty boring around here because we spend it working. We unfortunately don't get to take a vacation this year because my car is in the shop again! Ahh. Annoying. Hopefully when it comes out of the shop this time it is as good as new.

The hubs is in search of a new job and we are hoping that one comes through soon. He has been so down on himself lately and in turn it makes me feel awful because I can't do much of anything to make him feel better. He says he's happy with me and Evangelina, which I know to be true, but I can't help to think that he would be much happier closer to his family. It breaks my heart that we can't just live close to everyone. It would be nice to have a teleporter or unlimited airline miles so that we can travel back and forth whenever we need a hug from his family.

Work has been nuts! I blame it on the summer weather. Everyone and their sister are having babies! The last few weeks we have been completely filled. When we would discharge 3 we would get 4 more in labor. Plus, it has been hella hot on our unit! It doesn't make for a comfortable work environment.

Speaking of work, I probably should get off here and get ready. I would much rather spend another day off with my daughter, but nope, momma needs to make the dough.

How Time Flies

Wow, time really does fly and where does it go? I really can't believe that its July. It just doesn't seem possible, but here we are. Its been so hard to get on the computer for more than 5 minutes lately. Its just been so beautiful outside and Evangelina is at such a fun age right now, despite the crazy tantrums she throws on occasion. Even if we can't go outside we just do something fun here in the house and normally the computer isn't involved.

And today I thought I would just show you some of the fun we are having...

Thursday's Thoughts

Lately, I have been a huge slacker in the blog world. I am still trying to find the motivation and slowly, its coming to me.
I have a couple handmade trades that I'd like to do, that is if anyone is interested.
Evangelina and I have been doing a lot of painting lately. Its so relaxing, well, at least when she isn't extremely demanding. haha.
I have come to the conclusion that Evangelina is 3 going on 15. She definitely has an attitude of a teenager.
The hubs and I will be going to Cincinnati on Saturday to visit his cousin Carlitos, who is traveling with the Monkeys! How awesome is that?! Last year he traveled with Heart. I would love to go on tour with a band! It would be so much fun!
I need to find a great diet...I am so unhappy with my weight, but I just can't find the motivation. I have a feeling that the lack of motivation has been a bought of depression.
I wish I had something more interesting to talk about but unfortunately I don't. The family and I have just been hanging out around the house, but hopefully after Saturday I will have more to talk about.
Oh remember the newest addition to our family?

Anyway, Charger is terrified of Evangelina for some odd reason. Maybe its her volume or her crazy erratic behavior towards him. Who knows. Any time that Evangelina gets close to him he decides to climb up my back to get away from her. It is quite funny, but I feel awful that he is scared of her. I hope it fades away as her gets older.

Charger is the biggest scaredy cat ever, but I still love him.

Cat's got my tongue

For some odd reason I have been at a loss for word lately. I'm really not sure why- as I said Sunday I have so much to share with you, but I just honestly don't know where to begin. I guess I will start with the biggest thing that has happened lately.

This little beauty just turned 3 years old.

My little angel is growing up!

I couldn't stop crying on Friday, her birthday, which I had to work.

Maybe I was crying because I couldn't spend her birthday with her, or the fact that she's not a baby anymore.

I need another baby and Evangelina needs a baby brother or sister!

I am just starting to think that its never going to happen, but that's not what today's post is about.

So, Evangelina turned 3years old and we had a couple of birthday parties for her, which she loved! She got tons of princess stuff, a pair of roller skates and a bike with training wheels!

I attempted to make her a rainbow birthday cake for her birthday like this one:

but it was a bust.

My cake crumbled like an earthquake destroyed it.

So I managed to save it by getting those clear little cocktail cups and scooped a bit of the rainbow layers into each cup and then put vanilla ice cream and sprinkles on top of each and stuck it in the freezer.

It turned into rainbow cake ice cream cups!

It was a hit!!

Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of them because my blackberry died before I could get the picture off of it, but I intend to make them again! :D

It wouldn't be weird to make them for Beto's birthday right? haha

He will be turning 29 in July!

Now, its time for me to get the lovely Evangelina ready to go to vacation bible school and I think that I might head outside to enjoy the sun and paint with my watercolors that I got for my birthday!

We're in love.

The hubs decided to take in this pup because; 1. he's always wanted a pitbull and 2. the owner was going to put him down because no one would take him.

So we said we'd give him a home.

Last night was a rough night for us because the little stinker didn't enjoy being alone.

I knew it was going to be rough, but i didn't think it'd feel like I had a new born in the house again. haha

He's so in love with this pup!

It has been forever since I picked up a crochet hook, but this weekend I decided it was time. I really enjoy crocheting, but I got burned out when I was making tons of orders for owls and scarves and hats at Christmas time. So I just needed time to let that passion build again and it has to the point that I can barely put it down. I have decided to start on an afghan for my bed and here's what I have started:

My bedroom is decorated in teal, green, and white and I just happened to have those skeins available in my yarn drawer. :D I can't wait to get it finished so I can curl up with it. I don't plan on sharing either. haha

Time for a change...

Today, I broke down and got my hair cut by a professional. I was honestly a nervous wreck about doing it. I'm not sure why...maybe its because I was worried about getting a bad cut. There's nothing worse than paying someone who did a whack job on your hair, but I was in luck. The fella who did my hair was amazing! He cracked a few jokes about how trimming my own bangs is like a sin and that dying my own hair is right up there, probably because my roots were horrendous. Eek.
I was also nervous because I can't stand going to a hair dresser and them not talking to me or trying to make it more pleasant. This guy was a pro and we actually had a lot in common. We both were in the music scene back in the day and enjoyed going to shows. So we talked about the good ol' days and he made process go by quickly and it was painless. haha well most hair cuts are. I really think that I found my new hair dresser. Yay! I have never actually had one, but I picked up his card and told him that I'll come back to him before I pick up another pair of scissors and go at my hair. I don't want to go to hair do hell. haha.

I realize that lately I have been a horrible blogger, business owner, and friend. Its been quite difficult these last few weeks to get into the groove of things. I am beginning to wonder if I need to take a break or not. I know that I am going to put my Etsy in vacation mode because right now with the way work is I just can't keep up with it. I also have been debating on whether or not I should take a break from my blog. I don't want to, but I am a bit lost. I have lost the passion. I don't know if its because I am so busy with work that when I finally get home I am beyond exhausted and just want to curl up on the couch with my daughter and husband. Or if I have truly lost my passion for blogging. I hope its not the latter, but it kind of feels that way.

I love all the wonderful people that I have met via blogging and I would hate to lose their friendship and I fear that if I step away from the blog world, if only for a minute, I will lose just that.

So I ask you this question, what do you enjoy about this blog and would like to see more of?

Meet Me At The Swingset

It is such a beautiful day here in southeastern, Ohio. The sun is shining and Evangelina and I get to spend the day with our favorite man in the world. Beto!! Not only do we get to spend today with him, but this weekend he managed to have three days off with us! Yay! We are contemplating on whether or not to go to the zoo in Columbus this weekend. I really would love to go, but gas prices just keep climbing and our wages do not.

Today is my step-dad's birthday. I don't talk much about him, but I should. He's a wonderful man and he has always been there for my mom, sister, and I. Sure we had our fair share of head butts, but what family doesn't. I am so proud to call him my step-dad. And I am so excited to spend the afternoon with him today.
The sun is shining and I can't wait to take Evangelina outside to play!
I am totally enjoying this one week free hulu subscription on the xbox. I think it might be a great investment. Especially, since I tend to miss Glee.
I have so many ideas that I can't wait to get started on. I just need to find some time.
I can't believe Mother's Day is this Sunday! I have a feeling that May is going to speed on by just like January, February, March and April had. Eek. This whole year is just going to fly by. I can't stand it.
I need more hours in the day. That would make the days go by just a bit more slower, right? haha.
Glee just makes me miss singing and performing. I miss it so much. Thank goodness that I have a full length mirror and a hair brush so that I can sing and dance by myself. haha. Yes, I'm that strange.

My beautiful little terror

This little girl is simply amazing!

Her biggest dream is to be a princess.

She may not know it yet, but she already is a princess.

Yesterday, we attended a Mother Daughter Banquet with my sister, stepmother, and grandma. We had a lovely time, but my favorite part about it wasn't the cake or the company (although, the company was amazing,) it was seeing the look on my daughter's face as she watched the evening's entertainment.

She was amazed by the ballerinas and she called them princesses. She had a smile of pure bliss while she watched them. Her eyes were as big as the moon and glittered with excitement.

It made my heart ache with love.

This fall she will be joining those little princesses on the ballet floor.

Wild and Wonderful Adventure Hopes

I am in some desperate need of some adventure. Perhaps a balloon ride or sky diving (Yeah right! The hubs would never be down for that. He's not a fan of heights!) Maybe a nice wild ride on the white rapids of wild and wonderful West Virginia and a nice romantic camp trip afterwards with the man. Hell yes! I am definitely down for that. I just feel as if I am in a rut with life. I need something to wake me up and get my blood pumping again and it wouldn't hurt to get the fire raging again between the man and I- not that it's extinguished. It's just dwindling down and I know a great adventure will fuel the fire.

Maybe I've been reading too many mystery romance novels. You know the books- the female lead is a strong independent woman who deals with a bit of low self esteem, but refuses to shy away from danger.The male lead is a stubborn man, but sensitive man (most of the time he surprises himself with that quality) with a six pack and a knack at facing danger and kicking ass. Of course, all the kicking ass leads to a bit of smut, but who can blame them? I definitely can't.

crazy dreams and bubbles

Hey loves,
Today I am going to take a little break from the Guess Who fun because I am just too exhausted to put it together. As of right now I am running on 3 hours of sleep since 9am Wednesday morning. I am pooped! And I fear that I won't get much more sleep than that today. Okay, maybe I'm a wimp. I know there was once a time that I could function well without any sleep for like 2 days straight, but not anymore. I blame it on my husband. He's spoiled me. Anyway, this is not at all what I wanted to talk about today. Today, I wanted to share with you this bizarre dream that I had.

So the other morning I woke up from this insane dream that was a dream within a dream. Have you ever had one of those? Anyway, this dream was just so strange that it stuck with me. The setting was my workplace. I was there with the Warden (that's the daytime secretary) and some other girls. And we were all getting ready for this big game. A game complete with squirt guns, bubbles and rabbits? Rabbits!?! Really? I blame it on Easter and all the chocolate bunnies. So there I am super excited about this game and I've got my squirt gun in one hand and a bubble gun in the other and I'm waiting for the go and for them to release the bunnies, which were really two guys dressed up in bunny costumes. One in a pink one and the other a blue. Next, I'm chasing them all around the hospital with my bubble gun and squirt gun. Talk about nuts! I totally am a weirdo. Well, atleast the dream wasn't about zombies, or zombie bunnies! Ahh that would be nuts.

I am looking for a fresh start and what better day to do it than today.
I have been kind of a lousy friend lately. I have been too busy wallowing in my own problems and haven't had the want to pick up the phone or computer to talk to some good friend. So to those good friends that I have been MIA with, please forgive me. I love you all and I think about you everyday.
Yesterday, i broke down and had the hubs cut my hair. He didn't do a terrible job. It actually looks pretty nice. However, I do feel like a 10year old.

How's it look? I trimmed my bands. I'm not sure if I need to go shorter or not.

This 'do definitely makes me feel younger.

I am thinking about dying it this weekend. A part of me wants to go lighter, way lighter, like blonde. But the hubs thinks I should go dark. I'm not quite sure what to do. What do you think? I love the red, but I'm not sure how well it goes with some of my outfits. haha.
I am so excited about May! So many great things are going to happen. However, its still going to be a bit tough for the hubs and I in the financial department, but I think I am finally starting to see the silver lining.
My schedule for work next month is full time. I hope that I can still find the time for blogging, etsy, and friends. I don't know how some people do it. When I get home from work all I want to do is cuddle with the hubs and daughter.
I really need to finish my owl tattoo because I want to start a new one. I really want to start my back piece, but I'm thinking it would be best to wait until after summer. That way I don't ruin it with all my sun bathing...hahaha yeah that doesn't exist.
Oh and did I mention I am scheduled to work on Evangelina's 3rd birthday!!! Ahh I am such a bad Momma! I hope that someone will trade with me. I can't believe it! I couldn't even ask for it off because its my weekend to work. I will have to twist someone's arm! Or bribe them! Or blackmail! I am open for suggestions on good techniques.
I'm a slacker. I should be doing something productive here at work. Like rocking a baby, doing a hearing screen or making up information packets, but there are no babies to rock and I haven't really checked the packets. I still have 8 hours left. I will have plenty of time to do those if they need done.
I should have brought some crocheting or embroidery to work on. My shop is getting so low on goodies.
I shouldn't drink diet coke anymore..it makes my belly hurt. I think its all the carbonation. Stupid Diet Coke.
I haven't had caffeine all week or diet coke. Now I'm kind of wired, but I'm sure I will hit my high fast and then my low even faster.
Okay, I should seriously get off here and go do some work...maybe I'll just go draw a picture. :D Like a made up birthing brochure. The do's and don'ts. Or a redneck pregnancy manual...ooh that's a great idea! Considering we have plenty of those around here.

Cornwall, it is so beautiful and every single person is proud of their heritage and what makes them Cornish. My great Aunt was actually the last lady to speak fluent Cornish as her first language!

I like to crochet and make dream catchers. I like writing letters! I absolutely love reading. I spend too much time sitting on websites looking at awesome t-shirts these days, it's becoming more of a habbit than a hobby! A Guess Who Stunner!

1. My first name is Tierney, pronounced Tear-a-knee. It's probably the weirdest name most people have heard, and originally, I was supposed to be something totally normal like "Lacey". But then, my mom read a romance novel about a Celtic warrior named Tierney who saved his people. I also like to spell my name with different Irish variations, like Tigernach or Tigherneigh, just to be difficult and cool.

2. I'm 5'11, which is kind of a big deal when it comes to loving fashion. I have a hard time finding skirts and dresses that are long enough, and I have to shell out big bucks to get jeans in my inseam (36") I also have an obsessive love of high heels, but my favorite pair makes me 6'4. This is not conducive to my life. Everything would be solved if I became a super model, but unfortunately, I enjoy food.

3. I believe in fate when it comes to shopping. If you are truly meant to own something, it will come back to you in magical ways. Case in point: I obsessed for a long time over these calfskin leopard print Tory Burch Reva flats. Unfortunately, spending like $300 for ballet flats was not in my budget (ever) so I just admired from afar. Then, one day at Nordstrom Rack, I saw a pair sitting in my section. (Oh. My feet are a size 11, which further adds to my fashion pain.) They were pristine, and $80. I don't know how such a miracle happened, but I grabbed those puppies and sprinted to the cash register before anyone could steal them from me. Sooo...yeah. If it's meant to be, it will work out.

4. I ramble. A lot. I just am prone to have this runaway train of thought that goes from one subject to the next without realizing that no one else is on board the train with me. (See #1, #2, and #3 for examples...)

5. When I'm bored, I watch videos of Basset Hounds doing various activities. Running. Sleeping. Playing. I feel a little ashamed like I'm watching something naughty, but I am obsessed with those droopy dogs. I think it all stems back to this stuffed basset hound named Puddles I had as a kid. He was my BFF. (True story: My first night alone in my new house, I slept with Puddles.) (See #4)

6. I'm super involved with my church, and oftentimes I don't have any nights off. Between being a part of writing/acting with skit teams, puppet shows, special events, and other various activities, my life is pretty full. I also have been to Africa three times (going for number four this summer) and St. Kitts twice on missions trips. I'm so thankful for opportunities to give back, and to share God's love with everyone. God is basically awesome.

7. I color code my closet, which in theory sounds nice and organized, but all my hangers stink and they always slide off and I get upset and then throw them into the corner to think about what they just did to me. But, in case you are interested, roughly 45% of my wardrobe is navy and/or white (nautical), 30% is black, and the rest is red. I'm really obsessed with everything nautical and leopard print. I have three closets and three dressers and four wine racks for all my shoes. And two shelves for my handbags. Oh. And I have some stuff in storage. I worked retail for like four years, so I have some serious clothing treasures. I'm rambling. I'll stop.

Not really. I know some Swahili from all my trips to Africa--enough for basic interactions. Also, I know how to talk about food. Heh. I like to pretend I know Spanish, but they speak too fast. I can read it, but that's the extent of four years of Spanish class. I can order at Taco Bell! I can ask where the library/school/bathroom is!

Where do you call home?

I was born and raised in Northern Virginia, a few minutes outside of Washington DC. In the span of my life, I've watched my hometown go from being mostly woods and farms to being one of the wealthiest counties in the country. It's weird. Mostly, that just means we have horrible traffic.

Do you have any hobbies other than blogging?

I shop! I pet dogs! I have themed parties! I work out! I write novels! I go to church! I drink Diet Coke! I tan! I use exclamation marks excessively!

Thursday's Thoughts

Doesn't this kitten just melt your heart? I totally want one. i wonder if Evangelina can talk the hubs into letting us get one.
Its 4:30am and I would much rather be curled up in bed catching some more Z's than up and getting ready for work! This is ridiculous!
I had some really weird/awful dreams last night. Some doctor was trying to kill me. Eek. What's that mean in dreamology? (I don't know if that's what the study of dreams is called, but it works for me.)
Boy, I want that kitten! I keep looking at it and my heart just melts a bit more every time.
12 hours of work is going to feel like eternity. What the heck am i going to do with 12 hours of work today?
I wish I liked coffee because I could totally use some caffeine right now.
I absolutely can't stand when i go to bed sweating and I wake up freezing. Okay, well I did go to bed chilly last night, woke up half way through sweating and then this morning I wake up to a freezing house. I had to turn the heat back on so that I wouldn't freeze my hoo-ha off while showering.
I finally started my period and let me tell you...its killer this time. I mean the cramps aren't so so horrible. Its the fatigue that's messing me up. Yesterday, I could barely stay awake. I hope that today isn't like that.
My stupid blow dryer doesn't blow hot air anymore. Its so annoying. So now I freeze while I blow dry my hair. Not to mention, it takes double the time to dry my mop now. Thankfully, I let my hair air dry most of the time, but today I don't have enough time to do that.
Okay, this kitten is too cute for words. I want it so bad.
I have been a major slacker on the blog scene lately. Its really because I have been extremely exhausted lately. I promise to come back and catch up soon! And I will be a comment queen! unfortunately, I can't do that today because of the 12 hour shift. Unless, I sneak some blog reading in there. Hmm...who knows.
I am eligible for a phone up grade on June 3rd. Eek! I can't wait! Unfortunately, that is 2 days after my birthday! Ahh. I wonder if they will bump it up to June 1st? hmm. I really want the I-phone, but I'm still deciding between that or an Android. Which should I get?
All the girls at work play Words With Friends and I am a huge scrabble fan, so I can't wait to take part in the fun!
I hope work goes by quickly today. 12 hours just feels like a lifetime!

Good morning friends!
I hope that everyone had a fantastic weekend. Mine was decent and pretty busy. I'm going to do a simple little break down of it.
Friday- I my lovely bff came over and we had a wonderful talk. It has been ages since we last hung out and it was so refreshing. After our talk, I spent most of the day on the phone with Paypal and the bank. About this- Some hacker made fraudulent charges on my Paypal three time! Seriously?! Anyway, I didn't have all that money in my Paypal account so it withdrew from my bank-where I didn't have all the money either. So, I ended up over drafting. That is why I fought tooth and nail with Paypal about linking up my bank account! But they swore that if I wanted to receive money for my goods I had to link up my bank account. I knew that this would happen. I'm pretty liberal about technology the internet, but for some odd reason I just didn't feel right about this. And my vibes were right. So, I made a claim, they said I was right, and it should have all been peaches and cream right? WRONG! The bank charged me return check fees, what the heck?! Not my fault! So I fought with them and when straight up to management, I was told that i would get my money back, but not until today. Grrr! Then, I find out Friday, that Paypal still ended up taking the money out. Really?! So my bank account is more wimpy than it was. Paypal said that since the funds weren't in there to begin with they would get three tries to pull it out from the bank. Umm...cancel it. Its my money!!! There was no way for them to cancel the transaction apparently. Basically, everyone is covering their backsides but mine!!! Thanks Paypal for being a jerk!

The good thing about Friday is that I didn't have to work! Woot! Although, I should have because I obviously need the money, but after fighting with paypal and the bank all day I just wasn't feeling it. Oh and I must show you this amazing dress I wore Friday. Its definitely one of my favorites!

I just adore the hearts and floral. Its so fun!

Saturday, I ended up lounging around all day. I worked on a craft for a special friend and then I took a nap with the hubs. Good thing because I got to go into work. I wasn't expecting it because there was nothing going on and the floor didn't have any patients, but they had a threat of a patient coming in. Which she did come in and she was contracting, but she was still only 2cm dilated and her water was still intact. So she basically just spent the night. Even though there wasn't much we could do for her because she wanted to go naturally. Oh but I need to show you what I made for my BFF because her last day was yesterday and we had a surprise good bye party.

Sunday, I feel like it just passed by without as much as a hello. I hate when my days off just speed right by! I did, however, manage to tackle Evangelina's disaster of a room and get it all organized! We'll see how long it stays that way!

Today, I work at 3pm. I hope that its gentle to me because the last few weeks on the birthing floor have been chaos! Mainly, why I like to work midnights. I can go in do my job without anyone breathing down my neck. This week is definitely going to be a long one. I work 36hours this week and none of them midnights, eek!

I cannot wait for the honeysuckle to start blooming! Its is quite possibly one of my favorite smells in the world. Its so heavenly.
Why does my little terror enjoy making a huge mess with her yogurt? I mean really? Why must she stick her hands in her yogurt and paint the table with it??
I miss my dear friend Ashley. She's been away in Jamaica for her wedding/ honeymoon and I can't wait to see all the beautiful pictures that I know she is taking.
I am finally feeling a ton better! I don't know if its the medicine or if it is the knowing what's wrong, but whatever it is- its working.
The sun is shining and it is so very inviting! I have a few things to get done before Evangelina and I can go out an enjoy it.
Yesterday, I managed to cross off several things from my chore list, but not all of it
I fear cleaning Evangelina's bedroom, who know's what I will find. She's a sneaky little one.
I need to get the motivation to go to the gym more. If anyone has some motivation to spare please send some my way.
I am thinking about doing a twitter giveaway later tonight! Who's down for that?
I really need to get family pictures done soon! I have so many ideas for them this year. Soon!!!
I am in desperate need for a girls night out. Who else?
Oh and I believe its time for a dance party!!

Laundry is my worse enemy. I loath it. I will wash and dry it, but when it comes to folding and putting it away-that's the worse. Anyone else feel this way?
I can't believe that its my weekend to work again, but luckily I don't have work all three twelves. I only work Friday and Saturday night.

I have a ginormous amount of chores to do today. I have been putting it off and off for sometime now. Mainly because I haven't felt well, but that's a lame excuse. The laundry doesn't stop piling up, the dust doesn't stop layering and the dog hair doesn't vacuum its self. I've got so much that i want to get done today, so I hope my energy stays with me.

Today's To Do List:

organize the bedroom
organize my craft supplies
organize Evangelina's room
organize the bathroom
get dinner in the crock pot
vacuum the whole house
dust
wash and dry the mountain of laundry
mop the bathroom and kitchen

I hope there is enough hours in the day to get through this list.

Yesterday, I had a doctors appointment with my gyno because I have been having a lot of pain. Excruciating pain. She did the normal work up and then proceeded to send me to ultrasound to see what my plumbing was up to. I found out that I have a large cyst on my right ovary that is giving me some trouble. She said we can assume that I have PCOS. Now, is assuming diagnosing?? I'm not sure. I mean I have several of the symptoms, minus the development of male sex characteristics. Thank God. That would be so awful! Anyway, she prescribed me some Metfromin and told me we'd meet up in 4 to 6 weeks for another ultrasound and check up. I just would like a straight answer. Enough beating around the bush.

The good news is that my blood pressure was great! Which was awesome considering I was a nervous wreck while waiting in the waiting room.

Anyone else have PCOS?

I suppose I better get started on the list. I hope to have it all completed before the hubs gets home.

I took 2 years of Spanish in high school and I know very few words!! We had a BBQ this past weekend and one of the couple's little boy speaks nothing but Spanish and he was trying SO hard to talk to me and I was trying SO hard to understand him.... he said something something something "baño" and i said "OHHHH!!! the dog went in the BATHROOM" cuz he was just chasing the dog around! SO apparently in my 2 yrs of Spanish, I learned that bano meant bathroom. (sounds like me and my nephews in Mexico we end up playing charades.)

Where do you call home?

Tennessee. I grew up there even though I didn't move there until I was 7. It's home and will always be home.

Blog browsing!! Does that count?! Haha. I have SO many blog tutorials saved to try. I'm a wanna be crafter but never have the materials I need or the time to make a trip to a craft store. Hopefully that changes soon though and I can hardcore craft myself stupid.

Spring has sprung...

And I'm totally loving it.

Even though I am extremely exhausted,

Evangelina and I decided to spend the afternoon at the park.

And boy, was I enjoying it!

It was amazing.

And Evangelina even let me snap a few pictures of her.

Way to make momma happy.

The static in the tube was hilarious.

Every time that she came out she had crazy hair!

I loved it!

She is so shy about her beautiful brown eyes.

This is pretty much my favorite picture.

I used to live in a 1977 RV with my Hubs and our two dogs.
I'm a sucker for good marketing. I see a deal that's buy 5 get one free, I think, I need to buy 5 its such a great deal!
When my siblings are I were growing up, we would set up fake haunted houses in our bedrooms to entertain ourselves. It would involve blankets, weird toys and the lights out. Whenever someone screamed, we'd laugh and laugh and think "what a successful haunted house."
Oktoberfest is one of my most favorite holidays even though I'm not German. I just love dancing to accordion music, brauts and beer. Prost!
I'm a sucker for a good ending in a movie. That's why I love Disney movies.

I tend to have the strangest people as neighbors. My neighbor in San Diego peed on our patio the first time he came over to introduce himself and my neighbor is Austin showed me her homemade maxi reuseable maxi pads the first time she introduced herself. Apparently, people are really comfortable the first time they meet my Husband and me.

Thursday's Thoughts wk 8

I really love this picture of us. I can't remember if I shared this with you or not. Its from a couple weeks ago when the weather was perfect.
I am super excited about all the wonderful things that are going to be happening on the blog soon!
Like tomorrow is the first edition of Guess Who! (if you are interested in playing along e-mail me!)
Lately, I have been pretty addicted to the television series Prison Break on Netflix. Its so great! And there is a certain someone with tattoos that I find delicious! Shh. don't tell my hubsy.
I am so tired of this bipolar weather I need some sunshine!!
I have several things to do in the next few days and I am only hoping that I have enough time.
I almost forgot that I only have an 8 hour shift tonight and tomorrow night. Woot! Its amazing how different 4 hours can make. Its like a hole lifetime. haha.
This weekend is the Celtic Festival! i'm pretty excited. My parents asked me to go with them!
I guess there is someone there that can trace our lineage. That's awesome. I don't have much patience to do it myself, so if someone can do it for us that'd be pretty amazing!
I am hoping that this weekend proves to be a crafty one. I am hoping to get several goodies in the shop ready for your buying pleasure. ;) haha
I am really surprised my beautiful little terror is still asleep. Its almost 11am. She's such a sleepy head.
Of course, I would still be in bed if I allowed myself.

Lately, I have been trying to spice up the hubsy's and my romance. I'm not ashamed or embarrassed to talk about it! Heck, we're all adults here. Well I'd hope that we are. haha. When we were first together, we were on fire! We were crazy about each other and couldn't keep our hands off one another but after Evangelina came into our lives the romance has pretty much stopped. Its not that we aren't crazy about each other still, its just that its hard to find the time for adult time or the energy.

One more day until Spring is officially here!! Woot! One more day until my mother's 50th birthday!! I love my momma so much! She is amazing! There will be more about this lovely woman tomorrow.
Right now, I just want to quickly share a few things with you all before I go and tackle some items for my shop.
Yesterday, I had post on Love Without Training Wheels. So if you get a chance please go check it out. I really enjoy being a writer over there. It's a great outlet for me and there are so many amazing women/writers over there.
Thursday, was the start of the giveaway that I am hosting on Scenic Glory. She is such a beautiful and sweet friend! I am so happy that I could host this giveaway on her blog.
Today, I am going to work my butt off to get several more items up in the shop. So that my grand opening can be sometime next week. Its been a struggle lately and i'm really not sure which direction I want to go in with my shop. Its pretty much just a collection of many different things that I enjoy working on.
I have so many ideas floating around that I just can't pick one. I wish I had more time in the day to devote to this, but unfortunately I don't.

I am ready for an abundance of sunshine! Adios, Mr. Rain Cloud. I want to see my lover, Mr. Sunshine!
I want to speak Spanish fluently. I would love to go to Mexico knowing what everyone is saying.
I really don't look forward to working tonight, but since I took Monday and Tuesday as sick days, I should probably go in. Plus, we have the awful scheduling meeting today. My bff better be there so we can pass silly notes to one another.
I'm really excited about the Myster Project that Ashley and I doing! It's going to blow your minds!
I'm also extremely excited to see who is going to win the giveaway that I am hosting over on Lindsay's blog- Scenic Glory. Go check it out if you haven't already!
Took a pregnancy test the other day because my period is late again. It came back negative, again. I'm beginning to worry that there is something wrong with me. And of course the hubs is beginning to worry that something is wrong with him.
Perhaps its stress.
Why does my dog insist on lying on top of my phone. She's weird. She's going to flip out when it vibrates. haha.
I'm getting pretty bummed that I have nearly finished every season of Bones on Netflix!! Eek. What am I going to watch after I finish.
I have been such a lazy bum lately. I haven't left the house since Sunday. I haven't really gotten out of lounge clothes either. That is so unlike me.
My dog needs a fresh coat of red fingernail polish on her toenails.Yes, I paint her toenails. Especially if she insists on laying right on top of me.
I also, need to re-paint my fingernails and toenails.
I should really call this quits and start working on stuff for my Etsy!!! :D i've got so many ideas that I better roll with them before I forget them!

It’s amazing how twitter can bring people together.

Some time ago, I responded to a little tweet from the lovely Ashely of After Nine To Five. Little did I know that this tweet would be the beginning of a great friendship and the start of a exciting project that is bound to rock your socks off.

I don’t know about Ashley, but I am pretty much dancing with excitement. I feel like one of those little kids dancing with anticipation because they have the secret of the lifetime but can’t tell because they pinky swore and crossed their little heart. Actually, I’m sure Ashley feels the same way; but since the project is not ready yet we have decided to wait to share what it all entails.

So yesterday my hubs went to the mailbox and came back with a package. He was all excited about it and was jumping up and down over it. I thought he was crazy! He kept going on and on that it was his new Xbox game. Of course, I was about to flip out. ANOTHER GAME!?! Really?! Then he smiled and handed me over the package.

Low and behold it was an unexpected package from my dear bloggy BFF Amy from Amy Lou Who.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Monday so far. Also, i want to thank each of you for your warm thoughts and encouraging words! You all are so inspiring! Thank you so much! I plan on writing a letter to him, but instead of giving it to him I will burn it. I just can't bring myself to share my thoughts with him, but i do need to let go of these feelings. Thanks again for everything.

Now, let's get to business. This week I want to share an artist that I have been obsessing over bit.

Just need to get this off my chest

I have been struggling lately. Struggling to keep my cool about some things, but I'm about to explode. That's wouldn't be pretty. I'm going to say things that I won't mean...well, I might actually mean them, but they wouldn't be chocolate coated like normal. I'm all about being honest, but when it comes to my dad and stepmother, that's not quite possible. I mean don't blatantly lie to them, but I don't quite express myself the way I should because last time I did that I was called, selfish, spiteful, and plain old mean. Looking back at the conversation, I can't really recall being any of those things. If anything I was just looking for answers. Answers as to why my dad wasn't telling me the truth about why my mom and him divorced, why my stepmother and dad made my sister and i sit away from the family during my grandfather's (my stepmother's dad- whom I was pretty close to.) funeral, and why my father didn't come to my honor's choir performance when he had a months notice. I was young and looking for answers. It blew up into a huge argument and I walked out got into my car and went to my mom's and didn't spend another night at my dad's the remainder of the school year.

This time around, I am fortunate to not be living under the same roof as them. Thank goodness, because I know I would have become unhinged a lot faster. I'm extremely hurt right now. I try to just chalk it up to daddy issues, but i can't. I need answers. I need him to know that I am hurt. I need him to see the pain he causes, but I doubt he'll open his eyes.

How do I confront him with the things I am hurt over; the fact that he and my stepmother blatantly ignore my parenting rules(not sure if that's the word I'm looking for,) for Evangelina, the fact that he never smiles when he sees me or reaches out for a hug, and I never get a phone call or and I love you. But those aren't the biggest things I am hurting over right now. Right now, I am still trying to get over the fact that he didn't even bother to come to my grandpa's viewing or funeral to support my sister and I. We needed him and he didn't even come. He knew the times and date. He just didn't come. As you can see I am still very much upset about this.

I am just beyond scared to confront him about any of this because i know that I will be hurting even more in the end, but I just need closure I suppose. I need him to know how much he has hurt my sister and I. I just don't know if its best.

I'm really sorry about the not so positive post today. I just needed to vent because I'm pretty sure that this is the reason I'm not feeling 100% lately. I'm just at a loss.

Thursday's Thoughts wk 6

I don't know why I am feeling so blah today. I went to bed last night with a big to-do list and now I just don't feel like doing anything.
This rain is such a downer. I'm scared that my town is going to flood and wash away. Thank goodness I live on one of the highest points in town.
I want to fly in a hot air balloon! It would be so much fun, but I doubt my husband would go with me. So anyone else want to join me?
I have been addicted to watching Bones on Netflix. Why am I just now falling in love with it?
So many great things are going to be happening soon!! I am so excited!
My Etsy shop should be up and running soon! I am working on a few things now for it. I can't wait to share with you all! There will be plenty of made-to-order and ready-to-ship items!! Yay!
Not really into the idea of working again tonight. Too many things to do here at the house and of course no time for a nap today or tomorrow. I will definitely be a Zombie tomorrow.
Thank you for all your sweet comments about my new hair color! You all are so freaking sweet!
I think I might take a pair of scissors to my hair today and see what I come up with. The thing is I am a bit of a chicken and worried I might take too much off.
I am so angry with myself. I gained like 4 Ibs in the last two weeks. Yuck! I can't believe I did that. Its time to be super strict with my diet now! Boo!
I feel / look like a fatty.
I need sunshine, I believe that all this rain is just not helping this ugly mood nor my eating habits.

Just a quick post before I have to head into work this afternoon. Boo! I work from 3pm to 11pm, but that's not what I want to talk about today...today I wanted to talk about 2 different topics. Numero Uno: Check out my new hair color:

I love red hair!

I went to Sally's to get dark brown, purple, and pink hair dye- but I saw the red and fell in love with it again.

I do this every time. I always say that I'm over the red because its so high maintenance in my hair, but every time I see that bright bold red my heart melts and I can't resist.

So, here we are again a little brighter and definitely a lot more red.

I love it. Still not the fire engine red that I'd like, but it's close!

Numero Dos:

Yesterday I had a little surprise in the mail when I got home and it was from the ever so lovely Ashely of After Nine To Five. A week or so ago we decided to do a handmade trade with each other! And I must say, she doesn't disappoint. She made me 2 beautiful necklaces!

A crown for a queen! bahaha

and a heart, lock, and key!!

I am in love with them both. I think I might wear both at the same time!

Mustache March

Hey loves,
i was going to do a Manic Monday Mixtape, but decided against it today. Perhaps I will share it with you later. What I really wanted to talk about today is something that is driving me absolutely insane. Mustache March. The month of the year that men feel that its okay to change their daily grooming habits and not shave that little spot above their lips. I will admit that some men look great with facial hair, but not my man. strangely enough, he can't grow facial hair. I thought that being Mexican he could, but nope, his facial hair just grows out in patches. oh and he knows that his so called mustache drives me absolutely insane.

Please notice how sparse his mustache is.

This is from when his mustache was in full swing last year.

Definitely not a good luck for him.

So last night Evangelina wanted to try her hand at the whole mustache craze.

I think she did a pretty good job with her first mustache.

It quickly grew into a goatee.

It was amazing.

She wanted to be like daddy so much.

So to all the women out there who have men that think its fun and amazing to change their grooming habits for the month of march, I feel your pain.

No, I don't feel like dancing...I feel like a Zombie!!

(I think I might have nightmares while I sleep today because of all the creepy pictures that I browsed through to convey how I felt. Way too many creepy zombie pictures.)

(Although, if I were to have a nightmare I wouldn't mind if it were a zombie dream. haha)

I am beyond tired. Midnights just kick my booty!

I tried and tried all night to finish up the post with the handwriting thingamajig, but I got tired of fighting with the dumb computers at work and gave up. Maybe I will get it up once I wake up from dreamland.

Oh by the way...

Thursday's Thoughts wk 5

I want a cat. They don't chew up barbies, shoes, and paper. Plus, they are easier to cuddle with.
I have been off work since last Thursday morning. I really don't want to go back to work, but this weekend I work with my favorite girls. Bring on midnight shift.
I really want to redesign my blog, but I'm kind of at a loss. I want something eye catching but simple and organized. Hmm.
I have been awful with my diet lately. Eek. Starting next week I am going to be super strict on it. I have 30 more pounds to lose before I'm extremely happy.
how can I talk the hubs into getting a cat? Curse the creators of Pet Cemetery and their evil cat!
I really want to see Beastly and Red Riding Hood. I can't wait!
I need a vacation! Yes, I have been off of work for the past week, but it doesn't count...I need heat, preferably something tropical or something with neon lights!
I wonder if I am going to get pregnant this month.
I can't wait to write my first post for Love Without Training Wheels! I am so excited to be apart of this great blog.
